FAQs

What are the different payment options?

There are two payment options:

    • Full payment may be paid by e-Transfer or credit card.
    • Quarterly installments may only be paid by credit card.

Why is there an initiation fee for New Members

This is applicable as a one-time payment when a new member is joining for the first time and for returning members who have been out for a period longer than 24 months.

If I pay quarterly, when are the subsequent installments to be charged?

These will automatically be charged to your credit card on the first day of each calendar quarter – April 1, July 1 and Oct 1.

I already gave you my credit card. Will my account auto-renew?

Unfortunately we cannot. Our system does not carry over credit card information from the previous year. Members will have to re-enter their credit card information to pay their dues.

What does the suspension/deactivation process look like?

Failure to pay membership dues in full or to have signed up for quarterly installments by February 28 will result in the suspension of member privileges effective the first Monday in March. Consequences for not paying may vary by board, but can include revocation of access to MLS®, Data Co-op, and AREA Forms.

Privileges will be re-activated upon payment of dues.

Our membership work and live in Alberta, which we acknowledge as the traditional and ancestral lands of many peoples presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8 – namely the Blackfoot Confederacy (Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika), the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda and the Tsuu T’ina Nation, and the Métis People of Alberta. We recognize the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today, and those who have gone before. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those on whose territory we reside.
